it is the problem with such a stunning truck, use it like a truck, or not?

to be honest, my first thought was using at at the cabin for work.

GOD DAMN that's a clean truck. I may be a GM truck guy but I'd have 0 shame in driving that, I love the look of that gen F-150, plus it's so clean.

I would. Use it like you would. I wouldnt load it with a bed full of gravel, but within reason

well i am actually shopping for a work truck for the cabin right now and this year of Ford is on my list. This is too nice though; deep water and mud would be daily and snow would be likely all winter.

I had a straight 6 4x4 of this era with a 4 speed and it was absolutely the most indestructible thing. Everything except the rear wheel arches and cab corners that is. I would try to find one of those for sure. Do you have any welding skills? They can be had cheap with some body work needed

Man, keep us updated once you get a price. I could be swayed to throw some money at that.

I have a 110 welder and all the needed stuffs, but no skills (inherited) might be a good place to start.

I will, it is at a dealership so it could go one way or the other on priciness...

Kind of what I was thinking. Will either be a steal or lubeless penetration, a happy medium seems unlikely!

yeah for a camp truck. Is it going to be plated regular or as a "farm" vehicle (how we roll up in maine to avoid inspection) or do you not have inspections out there? Be a great place to learn

Kinja'd!!! HammerheadFistpunch > 505Turbeaux
04/02/2015 at 15:07

Kinja'd!!!1

There are no farm vehicles here, all vehicles have to have inspections. Besides, we would want it street legal anyway since we would pull the boat in and out with it.

Wow, nice. It really reminds me of a truck that we had on the lot when I worked at a VW dealer in the mid-'90s. It was an '87 in one-tone red, but otherwise identical spec. 2WD, regular cab long box, XLT Lariat, 5.0L V8, auto, and excellent condition.

My buddy's parents also had an '84 4X4 Supercab XL 4.9L 6-cyl 4-speed manual in that same colour combo.

ah yeah, farm trucks are just held to a lot lower standards up here. Lights, structural rust, brakes and tires and beep the horn for a Farm vehicle. Or a "fish truck" like my girls dad runs around in all the time. Same thing applies. And you cant go out of a 20 mile radius. Ah camp season is upon us. It cannot come soon enough

It almost reminds me of the '93 Dakota had when I was younger but this thing is way cleaner than that was when we got rid of it.

If it was 4x4, I'd be tempted to find out what the price actually is.

a friend of mine has that body dakota with a factory 5.9 and around 30K miles on it. Whatever the last year is. I didnt even know they put the 360 in those, just the later roundy ones. But he damn sure has one he bought off the lot back in the mid 90's. 2 tone grey and blue, and clean as this truck up here

That's awesome! I don't remember which engine my dad's had but I believe it was the V6 or smaller V8. I enjoyed that truck while he had it, some of my earliest vehicular memories involve that truck.
